Sam Collett

 

Sam Collett is a “realist painter” living in Wallowa County Oregon, and its’ land and people are always a source of inspiration and artistic challenge. His expressive emphases are drawing and painting, with oils, pastels, watercolor and all major drawing materials as his mediums.

Mr Collett received his formal education at Westminster College studying with Don Doxey followed by study in the MFA program at the University of Utah Art Department with Alvin Gittins, Earl Jones, and Albert Handell and again with Albert Handell at Woodstock, NY. The Artist has taught drawing and painting for over 25 years in many venues in Utah and the pacific northwest.

Sam Colletts’ work has been exhibited at the Salmagundi Club of New York, American Pastel Society of New York, Degas Pastel Society of New Orleans Louisiana, Oil Painters of America, Salon International Competition Green House Gallery Texas and has had one person shows at Kimball Art Center, Park City Utah, University of Utah, Springville Art Museum Utah, Bountiful Art Museum Utah, and Pendleton Art Center Oregon.
